We are delighted to report that Haringey Council Planning Authority have rejected a controversial application to add a rooftop extension to the streamline moderne Whitehall Lodge in Muswell Hill, London.

In making their decision the council acknowledged the positive contribution that Whitehall Lodge makes to the local Conservation Area and the overbearing and unsympathetic nature of the proposed extension. In rejecting the proposals the planning authority stated the proposed extension, “would not relate well to the design and appearance of the host building and overall would be an incongruous and visually detrimental addition failing to preserve the character and appearance of this part of the Conservation Area.”

Our sincere thanks to everyone that made comments on the application or supported the residents in their objections to the unwelcome proposal.
