Those lucky enough to be in Paris this summer might like to visit the L’Atelier Martel on Rue Mallet-Stevens. Access to the former artists’ studio, now an exclusive private art gallery, is normally by appointment only, but each summer the gallery is open to the public for a short period. The 2020 exhibition will be run from 23rd July to 31st August, 10:00am to 4:00pm; no pre-booking is required but entry is limited to 10 people at one time.  For more information visit http://galerie54.com/diaporama/2014-paris

The Rue Mallet-Stevens, located in Paris’ 16th arrondissement, was completed in 1926 and boasts several fine examples of Robert Mallet-Stevens archictectural work, including the studio he designed for the Martel brothers who were both sculptors. Their design brief required the very high ceilings and multiple levels which remain today.
